Watch movies together online

How it works

• Create a room: choose Movie in the list of games and send the link to your friends. They can watch from a phone or a computer.
• Open the movie on your computer and press Share, allowing the browser to send the sound. Sharing works from a computer; there is one sharing slot.
• Watch and talk: cameras, microphones and the chat work all the time, so you see your friends’ reactions at once, as if you were on the same sofa.

What you need

The person showing the movie needs a computer with a browser that can share the screen together with sound — for example Chrome or Edge. When you start sharing, the browser asks what to show: a tab, a window or the whole screen. To let your friends hear the movie, allow audio sharing in that same dialog.

Viewers only need the room link: they can watch on a phone or a computer. Cameras and microphones work as in a normal video call, and the movie volume and the voices are adjusted separately — make the movie louder and the chatter quieter. Anyone who does not want to take a seat can join as a spectator: they watch the stream and write in the chat.

What the room has

• One screen for everyone: one participant streams, and everybody sees the same picture at the same time.
• Separate volume for the movie and for your friends’ voices.
• Cameras and chat: you see who laughs and who jumps, and you can write without interrupting the film.
• Up to 12 people: enough for a family evening or a big group. Spectators watch and chat without taking a seat.
• Raise your hand: want to show something of your own? Raise your hand. The room host can take over the stream at any moment.
• No installation: everything runs in the browser, and on a phone the video goes full screen.

When friends live in different cities

An online watch party replaces an evening in one room: you see each other’s faces, hear the laughter and discuss scenes while the movie is playing, instead of retelling them later in a chat. Nobody has to find the same episode and press play on the count of three — everyone sees one shared picture.

Omerta does not store or distribute movies: the room shows only what is open on the screen of the person sharing it. Show what you are allowed to watch and share — for example, a film from your own subscription.
